Sometimes you are not going to feel like Giving Back.
I think that honesty is the best policy when it comes to Giving Back. The more honest I am with you about Giving Back the more inclined you'll be to trust in me, the process and yourself.
So....today...I didn't feel like doing all of the things that I need to do to make Giving Back With Gail continue to thrive. You see I was up late and didn't sleep well. This meant that I didn't wake up at my usual time in the morning to write my weekly blog.
I decided to be gentle with myself and to simply shift the energy and write it while I was at work. Once I was at work, I didn't feel like trying to marry my work world with my GBWG world. I was busy and frustrated with my coworkers and I just didn't feel like it.
I'd hoped the feeling would go away but by the time I got home it was time to catch up with my boyfriend and cook dinner and (Insert anything else I could fit in).
Please know that it's not that I'm not passionate about GBWG or the community that I created thanks to each of you. It's just that I'm human and sometimes we resist the very thing we know that we need to do.
So I sit here now, writing up my blog because I know that even though I don't feel like it, it's my responsibility and my heart's joy to connect with you each week.
The same is true in Giving Back. Sometimes I schedule a volunteer opportunity and wake up the morning of wanting nothing more than to snuggle into my covers. But I know that my commitment and heart are bigger than my moment of not feeling like it and I press on.
So I hope that this inspires you to "do" even when you don't feel like it. The "I don't feel like it" moment passes but the action and the good that you do lives on.
