If You Think Superheroes Aren't Real, You've Never Been a Volunteer!
I like to think that Halloween is the one day out of the year when volunteers can dress up as the Superheroes that they are each and every day.
Stan Lee describes a Superhero as follows, a Superhero is a person who does heroic deeds and has the ability to do them in a way that a normal person couldn’t. So in order to be a superhero, you need a power that is more exceptional than any power a normal human being could possess, and you need to use that power to accomplish good deeds.
This describes the magic of volunteers to a tee. It takes a very special person to look out at the world and make the choice to do what they can to make it a better place.
I am always grateful to be of service and I’m proud to say that I have performed hundreds of hours of volunteer service. Each time I Give Back, I see women and men who go out of their way to be a beneficial presence on the planet. From feeding the homeless to fostering animals to helping their elderly neighbor carry their groceries, these Superheroes use their time on this planet to accomplish good deeds.
So, are you ready to be a Superhero? Great! Take a moment after you read this blog to sign up for a volunteer project or perform a random act of kindness.

You may only be able to wear your costume once a year, but know that your Superhero good works on the planet leave ripples that last a lifetime.
