5 Ways to Give Back that cost $0.00

The main purpose of Giving Back With Gail is to inspire others to do what they can to help change the world. It is my goal to take the larger, sometimes overwhelming idea of volunteering and community service and make it palatable on a day to day basis.

I believe that Giving Back is an innate part of our being. I’m just here to shine some light on opportunities when you may not be able to find your way.

Now, please understand that I know that there are way more than 5 ways to Give Back that cost nothing. I’m providing this list as a starting point for anyone who may be caught up in the narrative that Giving Back has to include money. I’m here to remind you that it does not::

  1. Visit your favorite local volunteer organization (ex: www.newyorkcares.com or www.bigsunday.org) and sign up to volunteer with a cause that speaks to your heart.

  2. Mentor a local teen getting ready to go to college or preparing for their SATs.

  3. Donate clean, used clothes that you no longer need to an organization that will connect them with those in need.

  4. Donate extra food from your pantry (each food bank accepts different items) to your local food bank.

  5. Give Blood at your local blood bank. Summertime donations are statistically low. There’s definitely a need and you might receive a free gift depending on the donation center.

See how simple it is to Give Back? Each of these examples costs no money at all but help to make the world a better place.

Do you have other ideas for the list? Feel free to send me an email with other free ways to Give Back so that I can share them with the community.

Giving Back may cost nothing but it feels like a million bucks to the people, organizations and communities that you support. Keep shining your light.
