Have you ever wondered if you can include Giving Back in your plans when you are traveling abroad? Well I wondered the same thing when I started to travel more a few years ago. As I planned my first trip to Paris in 2016, I decided to Google organizations that may be in need of volunteers during my stay. I found a few . Some of them were understandably looking for more consistent support and weren't as open to a visitor on holiday. But I found two that were open and happy to
This week's vlog was inspired by a friend who had a not so great experience the last time that she went to Give Back. I have heard so many similar stories and have my own to tell as well. I decided to share what I think is an easy way to ensure that your volunteers have a wonderful time and guarantee that they will in fact return. I guarantee that if a non profit is having trouble keeping their volunteers, I can help them. This vlog is the first step in my upcoming workshops
Whew! I am still recovering from the awesomeness that was Giving Tuesday! It was so wonderful to once again see so many deserving organizations receive support. It was so inspiring to see the world come together in a day all about Giving Back.
It leads perfectly into my vlog for this week. In it, I talk all about the new movement that I am creating along with you...a movement all about gratitude. When I think of how I want to end this year and start the next anew, gratitud
It's time for one of my favorite days of the year...Giving Tuesday!
It's become an international movement that connects the world with a day of Giving Back. So of course I love it.
Are you familiar with Giving Tuesday? Do you want to find out more about it? In this week's vlog, I share all the ways that you can prepare for this upcoming Giving Tuesday. I hope that you will find the information helpful. I had a really great time recording the vlog...I LOVE talking about Gi
This Friday would have been my brother's birthday. We lost him to leukemia when he was 13 years old. As I sat down to think about how I'd honor his life this year, I realized that it would be a good time to share a few ideas so that other people could honor their lost loved ones as well. So that's what this week's vlog is all about: How to Honor a Lost Loved One Through Service. I miss my brother each and every day. I love feeling connected to him specifically on his birthday
The new vlog is up and it's all about Self Care. You know that thing that we always seem to forget about as caregivers? Taking a moment for self to refill our cup so that we can continue to pour from it and do our part to help make the world a better place. In the vlog, I give you 5 self care ideas that I hope that you will indulge in over the next few weeks. Volunteering ramps up over the holidays, so now is the best time to recharge via self care. As always, if you do take
Hi, I'm Gail and I have a great big purpose that scares the heck out of me. Lol! Most of the time though, I sit in pure gratitude for this great big heart of mine and for my desire to do my part to change the world. So when I decided to add the vlog to my repertoire, I immediately started overthinking and wondering if it would be good enough. I took a deep breath and just recorded what was on my heart: A reintroduction to the community of who I am and what Giving Back With Ga
When I decided to create Giving Back With Gail, I knew that I wanted to create a space where I could bring together a community of people all working towards the goal of making the world a better place. Along that line, it was mentioned to me that perhaps I should add a blog to my website. I was hesitant as I'd never done one before, but I was also excited to have another way to share my love of service with the world. So for the past year, (with an unexpected hiatus here and
I had an entirely different blog written for this week before I went to a workshop last night that sparked a fire in me that I was very much in need of. I recently set the intention to connect with more people and organizations doing the work to make the world a better place. My first step a few months ago was to join the organization Be Social Change.
I RSVP’d for their Goal Setting/Life Visioning workshop and am I ever glad that I did. I feel excited about what’s next. I m
I am a huge proponent for consistent Blood Donation. It’s something that I feel strongly about and I share with people every chance that I get. I want to share a little something with you...if you are a blood donor, you are literally helping to save a life and in my eyes you are a hero, a champion, a protector and a warrior. Basically, you are a badass. We walk through this life just trying to survive from day to day but it’s the moments when we stop thinking of ourselves and
